Uniform, Impression Requirements

   Uniform requirements are listed in the order of preference as well as the order in which they should be purchased. The preferred supplier is also listed along with the uniform article .

6 Month Requirements

1. M-40, M-36 or M-42/3 Tunic w/ Panzer jäger shoulder boards (Lost Battalions)

2. M-40 (field Grey) or M-43 Kielhosen (Lost Battalions)

3. M-34, M-42 or M-43 Field Mutz. (Lost Battalions, At the Front, 1944, SM Wholesale)

4. Grey Service Shirt, Tropical service shirt w/ National eagle. (Lost Battalions, At the front, 1944)

5. Grey socks w/size rings (where available)

6. Jack Boots, Ankle boots w/ gamachen (Check with unit sponsor) Must be hobnailed!

7. Underwear (unit issued)

1 Year Requirements

1. M-35, M-40 or M-42 Helmet w/ correct liner and chinstrap. Must have unit paint job, single decal is optional. (where available)

2. Black service belt w/ HEER buckle. (1944, At the front or unit supplied)

3. Ammunition pouches 1 pair black pebbled. Original or quality reproduction. (where available)

4. K-98 Bayonet with frog. Original or high quality reproduction. (where available)

5. Bread bag. Original or high quality reproduction. No post war bread bags! (wep haus, where available)

6. Canteen. Original or rebuild aluminum or bakelite cup. No medical or tropical canteens. (where available)

7. Mess tin w/ strap. Original or early E. German.

8. M-38 Gas Mask canister w/gas cape bag. (where available)

9. Splinter pattern zeltbahn w/ 2 blanket roll straps (1944, where available)

10. Y-Straps leather (At the front, 1944, Dunn's Bunker,)

18 to 24 Month Requirements

1. German Manufacture 98k w/proper cross hatched sling (where available)

2. A-Frame w/ bag (where availible)

3. Spork (1944, At the front)

4. Butter Dish original (where available)

5. M-40 greatcoat (Lost Battalions)

6. Reproduction gloves w/ size rings (1944)

7. Toque reproduction or early W. German. Must be grey. (At the front)

8. All personal hygiene items (At the front, 1944)

  It should be noted that this list is not complete and is intended as a guide only. Your unit sponsor will provide specific guidance on obtaining items listed as "where available".  New members should not buy anything without consulting with their sponsor. 

A Note on Camouflage

  The 61st does not wear camouflage as part of it's regular impression.  There may however be events where camouflage will be authorized for use. The water pattern smock available through 1944 and SM wholesale is the preferred garment.  It should be noted that this will be a very rare occurrence.  New members should obtain the rest of their impression prior to purchasing any camouflage.

 Acceptable helmet coverings are as follows.

1. Cut inner tube

2. Original bread bag strap

3. Proper chicken wire

4. Reproduction net with clips from G-Max
